Born in Brooklyn, New York Rexha had an interest in music from childhood, she self-learned trumpet, Guitar, and Piano. She also attended choir classes in her school Tottenville High School.
Rexha’s musical journey started in 2010 when she joined the band Fall Out Boy. She was working as the lead vocalist of the band’s experimental album Black Cards. Though the band was performing well at that time, she left it in 2012. Then something big happened, Warner Brothers signed her in 2013. Under Warner Bros. record, she wrote songs for many famous singers like Selena Gomez, Nikki Williams, and Nick Jonas. Significant credit goes to Rexha for Eminem and Rihanna’s song “Monster”.
She first released her single “I Can’t Stop Drinking About You” in 2014, which got partial success and reserved the 22nd spot on Billboard’s Top Heatseeker chart. Her debut extended play released in the following year, titled I Don’t Wanna Grow Up.
2016 was a great year for Rexha, she released her single with Marting Garrix named “In The Name of Love”, the song hit the Billboard Top 100 chart at number 24. In that year she also released her single “I Got You” from her second EP All Your Fault Part 1.
Rexha has pocketed one MTV award and two Radio Disney awards so far; however, it’s only a matter of time to see her walking in the red carpets.
