The Gist

  • Katy Perry shaded her exes while headlining Spain’s O Son do Camiño festival in Santiago de Compostela on June 18.

  • The “Firework” singer called out ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom as well as John Mayer, Diplo, and Russell Brand during a performance of her 2019 song “Never Really Over.”

  • Perry also gave boyfriend Justin Trudeau a sweet shout-out during the song.

Katy Perry had a not-so-subtle message for her exes as she shared a sweet nod to boyfriend Justin Trudeau on June 18. While headlining Spain’s O Son do Camiño festival in Santiago de Compostela, the “Firework” singer made it clear she’s left all of her former flames completely in the past with a telling dig during her show.

Per a concert video shared on X, Perry performed her 2019 song “Never Really Over”—a track about an on-and-off relationship that refuses to fizzle—with a giant phone prop on stage. The song is believed to be about ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, as the former couple famously rekindled their relationship in 2018 after their 2017 breakup and went on to get engaged in 2019. However, Perry and Bloom—who share a daughter Daisy—ended their engagement and relationship in June 2025.

“Never Really Over” hits a little differently now for the star, who’s been dating Trudeau since last July. And Perry didn’t hesitate to send a little shade to her exes as she gave the former Canadian Prime Minister a sweet shout-out during her performance.

In the clip, the “Last Friday Night” singer declined calls from ex Diplo as well as an assortment of initials that appear to represent her exes. She ignored calls from “OB.” (a seeming nod to Bloom) as well as “RB” (ex-husband Russell Brand), and “JM” (ex-boyfriend John Mayer). However, Perry picked up one call from “JPJT,” which stands for Justin Pierre James Trudeau.

The “California Gurls” singer recently marked a major relationship milestone with Trudeau by making her red carpet debut with him as her plus-one at the premiere of the Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris film on June 8 at the Tribeca Festival in New York City.

Perry, who referred to the former politician as the “love of my life” at the event, was also spotted holding hands in the stands following her World Cup performance on June 12 and canoodling with Trudeau during a PDA-packed picnic date on June 13.
