People called her out for being “too skinny” and a “stick insect”, with one commenting:
“Need a feed and some flattering clothing. I’m surprised her doctor didn’t confront this… I’m not trying to be rude but she seems pretty skinny, is it healthy to be that skinny especially with a baby.”
Bec has often had to speak out in defence of her naturally thin frame. Her mum was like that, her sister is like that … it simply runs in her family.
“Healthy comes in all shapes and sizes,” she wrote in a 2014 blog post. “Some people are naturally thin, some people are naturally bigger, some people are more athletic in tone, some people have minimal tone. We are all different and we are all NORMAL.”
The model was not impressed with the rumours, firing back: “I did IVF. One at a time. It isn’t twins. I can see the damn thing. Get out of my uterus.”
Critics slammed the style, saying things like: “She looks like a beached whale with a floral tablecloth.”
Kim, who had to have the dress resized a number of times to fit her growing tum, said the comments “really hurt my soul.”
They commented: “It doesn’t look like a baby bump, it looks like a beer belly.”
She just tousled her perfect hair, nuzzled into her perfect husband’s chest and let out a perfect laugh. Well if we were friends with her we’re sure that’s what she would have done…
A photo of her comparing bumps with a friend just 4 weeks further along than her quickly went viral, spreading a message that all bumps a beautiful.
“Each woman carries differently and this most certainly doesn’t mean one is doing something wrong or not healthy,” she wrote. “We both have healthy growing babies & we both have had incredible pregnancies so far, feeling amazing & full of energy.”
She posted a naked pregnant selfie and accompanied it with: “I will continue to live unapologetically, to thrive in this body, prove the naysayers wrong & laugh at the ignorance.”
Hayden didn’t make any public statement addressing the comment … but we wish she had.
Fans told her to put down the desserts, an idea Jessica would simply not have a bar of: “I’d been scrutinised about my weight before I got pregnant, so I refused to let anyone steal the joy of my babies.”
She addressed the issue on social media, saying “so many comments were thrown my way for having a massive bump.”
She shared one example where she was trying on a dress in a shop, and the assistant said ‘Holy moly!’ My friend is 36 weeks and you’re only 24 weeks and you’re WAY bigger than her!’”
Her advice to would-be shamers? “Don’t mention the size of a bump … No ‘you’re so big!’s No ‘oh! You’re so tiny’s.’ Just say something like ‘you look beautiful / healthy/ amazing!’”
