The (Legit) BOSS.
The Blueprint.
The CEO.
Último Moné.
“TVTropes! Say hello to your C-E-O!”

Mercedes Justine Kaestner-Varnado is a professional wrestler from the United States who was born on January 26, 1992. She currently competes under the ring name Mercedes Moné and is signed to All Elite Wrestling. She is most well-known for her time in the WWE, where she wrestled as Sasha Banks. Mercedes joined Chaotic Wrestling in 2010 as Mercedes KV, where she wrestled alongside Nikki Roxx and defeated Alexxis for the Women’s Title in 2011. She has also worked for NWA On Fire, Beyond, NECW, and Top Rope Promotions. Prior to signing with WWE, she won the RWC No Limit Title in 2012. She was one of the “Four Horsewomen” (along with Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and Becky Lynch) of WWE’s “Four Horsewomen,” a group of four women who came through NXT and played a significant role in the revolution of women’s wrestling in WWE through their stellar matches. She is a one-time NXT Women’s Champion, a five-time Raw Women’s Champion, a one-time SmackDown Women’s Champion, one of the first Women’s Tag Team Champions, the fourth Women’s Triple Crown Champion, and the third Women’s Grand Slam Champion. Alongside Bayley, she is a one-time SmackDown Women’s Champion. She also made her acting debut in 2020 on The Mandalorian as Koska Reeves. Mercedes’s status with WWE was in question for the remainder of the year after she and her tag team partner Naomi walked out on the company in 2022. It was eventually reported that she and the company had failed to reach an agreement on a new contract. She made her debut as Mercedes Moné for New Japan Pro-Wrestling on January 4, 2023, at Wrestle Kingdom 17, joining the roster of their women’s promotion World Wonder Ring STRDOM. On February 18, 2023, she would defeat Kairi to become the first IWGP Women’s Champion. In December of that year, it was announced that her NJPW/Stardom contract had come to an end. She made her AEW debut on March 13, 2024, in a special episode aptly titled Dynamite: Big Busine$$. She defeated Willow Nightingale to become the AEW TBS Champion at Double or Nothing 2024 on May 26, 2024. Before finally succumbing to Willow Nightingale in a rematch at New Year’s Smash 2025, Mercedes held the title for 584 days while also winning numerous other titles. Mercedes would then defeat Willow Nightingale at All In 2026, removing her from her position as champion and establishing herself as the new AEW Women’s World Champion. When you play around with Mercedes Moné, there is a price to pay! Aborted Arc: In 2018, Sasha and Bayley’s friendship was put to the test when Bayley got fed up with Sasha taking advantage of her and attacked her in June. After Sasha told Bayley that she loved her a month later, their animosity was resolved. She won the Women’s title in NXT, Raw, and SmackDown, making her the third WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion. She is also the first female wrestler to win championships in WWE, AEW, and NJPW, and she and Bayley were the first women to win tag team titles in WWE. She is a first cousin of Snoop Dogg, as William Regal has mentioned a few times in the manual. Snoop accompanied Sasha to the ring for a WrestleMania entrance, which seemed somewhat logical given her rise to the main roster. This was more frequently brought up. In 2019, she got a remixed entrance theme with rap verses by Snoop Dogg. Name with alliteration: Mercedes Moné. When she’s a heel, Alpha Bitch’s character will unabashedly come across as such. On both sides of this stereotype, there is always someone better. She is talented enough that she and Asuka have been rated as the best women’s wrestlers by a number of wrestlers. She has, however, never been scripted to have a successful singles title defense in any of her first five reigns as Raw Women’s Champion, and as of WrestleMania 37, she is on track to have the worst track record of all WWE Superstars at WrestleMania, with 0 wins and 6 losses. At WrestleMania 38, she finally achieved her first victory, albeit in a tag team match. Amazonian Beauty: She is definitely built to be strong. In 2016, she was on the cover of the women’s Muscle & Fitness magazine. In a list of the 25 best abs in WWE history, which included both male and female superstars, WWE.com ranked her number 13. Anti-Hero: She is still generally arrogant and a seeker of attention even when she is disguised, but she does genuinely care about her friends. Arch-Enemy:
Hers appear to be cocky blondes, which are not uncommon in WWE, especially Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. She and Bayley have had a similar on-and-off relationship, and as of this writing, their animosity toward one another is at its height. When Willow Nightingale defeated Mercedes in the inaugural Strong Women’s Championship tournament, they became enemies during their time in NJPW. After they both joined AEW and exchanged the TBS Championship, their rivalry continued. Ascended Meme: Sort of; in response to her NXT Phrase Catcher, “Sasha’s ratchet!” she wore a shirt that said “I’m not ratchet” for a long time. Ass Kicks You: Whenever she is caught behind her opponent, she will kick her in the back to knock her away. Additionally, she gave Emma a stinkface at a WWE live event. Badass Boast: She refers to herself as “The Legitimately Built-on-Self-Success Sasha Banks” when she uses the acronym for her nickname, “BOSS” (see Fun with Acronyms below). Being Evil Sucks: There is a fairly strong subtext that she wishes she could have the same happy and lovable personality as Bayley. This is hidden behind the bling and the attitude. By summer 2016, she had acknowledged Bayley and Enzo Amore as friends and had let loose a little more after being a face on the main roster for a few months. A notable aversion for Roadblock 2016: Beauty Never Fades During a kickout in one of her many matches with Charlotte, Charlotte accidentally hit Sasha in the face with her foot. DEAR GOD, it began with a mild but noticeable nosebleed about five minutes later. Note that despite WWE’s PG rating’s no-blood policy, no one intervened to end the match, and Sasha finished the rest of her match with her lower half of her face covered in blood. Beta Bitch: Charlotte Flair and Summer Rae later. Sasha went on her own after the Beautiful Fierce Females split up. She eventually developed into her own Alpha Bitch. Blessed with Suck: In 2020, she set a record by becoming the fifth woman to win the Raw Women’s Championship. It’s a shame that she lost the title again to the previous champion in her first defense, as she did in the previous four. Boisterous Bruiser: She is just as bad-mouthing as she is punching. A new take on the borrowed catchphrase She purchased one of Charlotte’s t-shirts and changed “Do It Like a Boss” to “Do It With Flair.” Broken Win/Loss Streak: At the end of 2020, she broke two of her losing streaks. First was the first person in the Hell in a Cell structure to win a match when she beat Bayley to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship at the corresponding PPV. The following was, to the surprise of fans, successfully defending the title on the main roster against Bayley. Butt-Monkey:
She has never been able to defend the Raw Women’s Championship successfully. She has won it five times, a record at the time, but has barely held it for more than 100 days… Going into her third match in the structure, she is also 1-6 at WrestleMania and 0-2 in Hell in a Cell. She won her first Smackdown Women’s Title, depending on who you ask, breaking the previous streak with a cathartic victory over Bayley. She successfully defended the title, but she has been mostly ignored as champion. She barely gets any TV time, mostly going to her former best friends Bayley, Carmella, and Bianca Belair. Summer Rae on a stick (a head cut out of cardboard) is the cardboard pal. Catchphrase:
Mostly used on Twitter, but “Bank on it” is also used. The line “Nighty night!” occasionally kicks off the Backstabber, which then transitions into the Banks Statement. Since moving to AEW, her promos frequently begin with “(City name)! “Hello, Chief Executive Officer!” She frequently asks people who annoy her, “Are you stupid, or are you dumb?” beginning toward the end of 2024. “There’s a price to pay when you mess with Mercedes Moné” is often how she ends her promos. She started out as a typical Beta Bitch to Summer Rae when she first turned heel. She became accustomed to wearing tacky outfits, rhinestones, and sunglasses over time. The character transformed into a sassier, goofier version of her real-life self after changing her appearance on the main roster. Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: At least once, all four of WWE’s Four Horsewomen have turned on one another. Sasha, on the other hand, was most likely to pull a heel-face revolving door and turn on someone, usually Bayley, given that Charlotte almost exclusively wrestled as a heel on Raw/Smackdown, Becky was a Tweener, and Bayley was a pure babyface until 2019. Best expressed by Corey Graves: Sasha has a knife, Corey Graves: if you’ve got a back. The trope has become almost entirely literal due to its frequency. The “Backstabber” is Sasha’s use of the Double Knee Backbreaker, which she uses in almost every match to prepare for her “Banks Statement” finisher. In 2020, for the first time, a heel like Bayley betrayed Sasha. In the weeks that followed, Bayley would “pillmanize” Sasha’s neck twice, claiming that the attack was preemptive. Sasha’s subsequent Heel–Face Turn was more of a Hazy–Feel Turn because this had some truth to it. Cool Shades: In NXT, she wore a pair of shutter shades that were her trademark. Since then, she prefers a more individualized pair with “LEGIT” and “BOSS” printed across the lenses.

Subvert the Cutie:

She was successful in imitating Summer Rae’s actions on Becky Lynch and achieving very similar outcomes. On the main roster, Becky was the one who managed to get her a heel-to-face turn, which is ironic. Bayley, who turned heel for the first time in WWE due to Sasha’s Toxic Friend Influence and Bayley’s extreme loyalty to her, ultimately ended up doing the same thing. Dark Magical Girl: There is a strong subtext that Sasha is covering up her insecurity with a lot of bluster and confidence. And the fact that she breaks character pretty readily whenever she’s shown an ounce of legitimate compassion by Bayley or Renee Young seems to indicate that Sasha is lonely and scared, not truly cynical and bitter.
Dark Reprise: Sasha’s theme song changed in 2019 from being upbeat to being arrogant, featuring intense brass instruments and darker lyrics from Snoop Dogg: You were aware that she is a legitimate boss. Da Big Boss Dogg, yeah, I had to do that
That’s my family, and we’re very G Take a knee to the new WWE champion! Department of Redundancy: As of late 2024, one of her most common insults is to ask people, “Are you stupid, or are you dumb?” Substance of the Distaff: Mercedes has made it clear that she is a huge fan of Eddie Guerrero. Her character as a heel is influenced by him, and her wrestling is definitely influenced by him and other cruiserweights from WCW. She even stated that she would employ a Frog Splash at Manianote. The Boss almost resembles one of her own bosses because of the frequent use of her knees (see Extremity Extremist below), her arrogance when winning and total cowardice when losing, her one-word Red Baron that screams “top dog,” and the association between looking up to a Flair and looking down at everyone. Also in a small way to Kevin Owens. The two have, at least in WWE, long histories with a lovable underdog babyface character (in this case, Bayley as Sasha’s Sami Zayn), which, for better or worse, often dictates most of their storylines and booking (and ultimately leads to both Zayn and Bayley undergoing their first WWE heel turns to support Owens and Sasha). In this case, Bayley is playing Sami Zayn, who is Sasha’s Sami Zayn. Additionally, each had a brief period of initial success before being oddly pushed down the card and excluded from the title scene. The Dog Bites Back: Charlotte was her opponent while she was still a face. Sasha suddenly became extremely aggressive when the latter chopped her, possibly as a sign that she wasn’t as nice as she appeared. Theme song for “Do It Yourself”: Subverted: It is a common misconception that she sang her own entrance song, “Sky’s The Limit,” but Bayley started the rumor as a joke that was taken seriously. straight with her AEW theme, “CEO,” on which she does sing herself. When the crowd first chanted “Ratchet!” she did a magnificent double take. at her (in a competition with Emma). She claims that at first, she thought they were referring to her as “rat shit,” but when someone else realized it was actually “ratchet,” she was once more taken aback by the idea of being referred to with such a racial slur. Cameo of the Early Bird: As one of the sexy concubines accompanying Triple H’s epic entrance at WrestleMania XXX, she made her first public appearance to the WWE main roster audience outside of NXT. During All In 2023 in London, Mercedes appeared for the first time on AEW programming as a member of the audience. Evil Feels Good: She appeared somewhat troubled by what she had done after she turned her back on Paige. She acknowledged, however, that she had thoroughly enjoyed it by the time she and Summer were backstage. Change in the Expository Hairstyle: Her dark blonde hair turned brown after she split from Charlotte and Summer and tried to make a name for herself. Similarly, she dyed her hair red when she first competed against Charlotte for the Women’s Championship. She wore her hair straight and pink after she split from Team BAD. It changed to a lighter shade of magenta following WrestleMania and then to purple following her final rematch with Charlotte. She then switched out her purple wig for a blue one right after her Face–Heel Turn in 2019. Her first appearance in New Japan Pro-Wrestling features an orange/red hairstyle with a blue pattern of flames burning, a sign that her time as Sasha Banks is over. Extremist: Sasha frequently uses her knees. She uses a double-knee backbreaker to set up the Banks Statement, from her running double-knee into the corner to her double-knee drop to an opponent draped over the ropes. Turning face-to-heel: After Paige beat her in a match, she gave babyface Sasha a handshake. However, Sasha attacked Paige instead after getting a boost from Alpha Bitch Summer Rae about making herself relevant. attacked Natalya and Becky Lynch, interrupting Natalya’s sincere message about her late father and brutally assaulting Becky with a steel chair, making her surprise return for the first time since WrestleMania 35. Bank Statement, a bridging crossface that is frequently set up by a double knee backbreaker, is the finishing move. Bankrupt, a straight-jacket neckbreaker slam that she first used, became more of her signature move later. She still uses the Bank Statement, which she renamed the “Statement Maker,” but she also added the Moné Maker, a Gory Special dropped into a DDT, to her repertoire. Forehead of Doom: A recognizable feature that she acknowledged as her own. Foreshadowing: The release of “Big Business,” in which Mercedes’ promotional image featured the name of the city of Boston spelled “Bo$$ton,” was a significant indication that Mercedes would join AEW. “The Boss” was one of Sasha Banks’ final words during her time in the WWE. Sasha must really enjoy acronyms because she has been in three stables whose names include acronyms: The Beautiful Fierce Females, Charlotte, Summer Rae, and She were best friends. She and Becky Lynch went by the name Team BAE, which stands for “Best At Everything.” She later joined Team B.A.D. alongside Naomi and Tamina Snuka. This used to stand for Best At Dominating, but Naomi changed it to Beautiful Alpha Divas (at least on her Twitter the week before Sasha showed up) and then to Beautiful And Dangerous. All three of these names are similar to the teams that Sasha is a member of, giving the impression that she is connected to the group. Fridge Brilliance should be moved to the YMMV tab. She also goes by the name “The Boss,” which is short for “Built On Self Success.” Embossed with Gems: She adores rhinestones. As a persona. Girl Next Door: Girly Bruiser is a formidable wrestler and stunning beauty. Take a look at her Finishing Moves, which are extremely unusual for a WWE woman and would not look out of place on a technical male wrestler. She also got pink hair in 2016 and will wear some pink on her ring gear, as well as a lot of jackets with rhinestones. Bayley got one from The Glomp after she beat her to win the NXT Women’s Championship. Gold Makes Everything Shine: Has a tendency to wear a little bit of gold on all of her ring outfits and accessories. Good Is Foolish: As a face, she only won about two matches, both of which were treated as upsets and rewarded with fancy pins. She didn’t start winning regularly or becoming a finisher until she turned heel. She also enjoys using this to get people to smile. Bayley gave her a handshake during Takeover: Respect, but she was slammed into the mat for doing so. Hard Head: She occasionally uses her head as a weapon, but her 2016 Raw match with Becky Lynch ended when Becky hit Sasha with a series of headbutts. Becky and Banks were both eliminated, resulting in a double pinfall. Hazy–Feel Turn: Even though Sasha turned a new leaf after Bayley betrayed her in 2020, she retained her heeling tendencies. Heel-Face Door-Slam: She was clearly irritated after losing a match to Paige. Recognizing her as a Valuable Opponent, Paige went to shake her hand. Sasha rebuffed this and instead attacked Paige. Heel-Face Revolving Door: From 2020 to 2021, Sasha has changed sides based on who she is fighting with. Hero-Worshipper: Sasha pays tribute to Eddie Guerrero by employing some of his movesets. She uses Dana Brooke’s Wounded Gazelle Gambit tactics (with a title belt instead of a chair) on one episode of Raw in 2016 to evict her from her match with Charlotte. Sasha was essentially the one who persuaded Bayley to perform a face-heel turn late in 2019 and was hoisted by his own petard. Bayley became more and more evil over time, eventually turning on Sasha the year after that. Hypocrite: Whenever Bayley and Sasha had a beef in the main roster, Sasha frequently accused Bayley of betraying them and breaking up their friendship. Sasha, on the other hand, frequently overlooks the fact that she had betrayed Bayley multiple times prior to their time together on NXT. This was especially evident at the beginning of 2018, when Sasha betrayed Bayley in the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber matches, but she had the audacity to complain when Bayley started to leave her in tag team matches. She doesn’t get called “ratchet” for no reason. She wears clothes that are so ridiculously tacky. Invincible Villain: After joining AEW, Mercedes went more than a year without losing a match. She beat people like Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, Jamie Hayter, and Willow Nightingale. By the beginning of 2025, Mercedes had become a triple champion, earning the title “4 Belts Mone.” She continues to be undefeated and has added even more belts to her collection along the way, to the point of breaking Ultimo Dragon’s record of having the most titles simultaneously with 12 belts as of November 2025. Her winning streak came to an end when Toni Storm defeated her at All In Texas. Jerk with a Gold Heart: Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado is not the ruthless, heartless competitor that Sasha Banks is.

Jerk with a Gold Heart: Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado is not the ruthless, heartless competitor that Sasha Banks is. Examples of her nicer side coming out include:
Her emotional embrace of Bayley following their match at Takeover: Brooklyn. She literally burst into tears at Takeover: Respect when the entire roster, including Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, came out to give her flowers and congratulate her on her performance. Also from Respect: Did her perfect heeling make Bayley’s huge fan Izzy cry? Absolutely. But when the cameras stopped recording, she apologized to Izzy by giving him a huge bouquet of flowers. Kaleidoscope Hair: She has wrestled with her brown hair, as a blonde, with magenta, pink, and blue hair, and with her natural brown hair. Kayfabe: She is known for never acting out of character when she isn’t getting emotional at important or pivotal points. Only three instances of it are documented, one of which was incorporated into the narrative: Her post-title backstage interview with Renee Young, in which Renee specifically questioned Mercedes, the performer, rather than Sasha, the character. After losing the title to Bayley at Takeover: Brooklyn, the final show with the other Four Horsewomen. She explained that Bayley had earned her respect “for that night only” in the subsequent promo, which opened with her voice audibly shaking as she talked about the overwhelming positive reception to the first title match. Kick the Canine: A secret admirer wrote cruel letters to Audrey Marie. After that, he attacked her from behind and said it was in response to Sasha upsetting her. In the middle of 2013, this angle was played out on the main roster, but AJ Lee and Kaitlyn played Audrey and Sasha, respectively. Sasha just came out to talk trash and make Bayley feel bad about losing at the live special to Charlotte. After severely harming Bayley by tossing her into the video screen during the Iron (Wo)Man match at NXT Takeover: Respect, she went on to scream at Izzy, a well-known fan of Bayley, which made the girl cry. The announcers, including Corey Graves, who had previously defended Sasha’s ruthless strategy, were quick to point out that it was quite extreme for even her. Regarding the first instance with Bayley, karma eventually bit Sasha in the back when she tried to be a Graceful Loser after losing her own feud with Charlotte, albeit after the heel-to-face turn. Sasha’s injuries from Hell in a Cell 2016 got worse when Nia Jax attacked her just for the Evulz. Sasha portrays herself as an awful friend to Bayley in 2018. At the very first Women’s Royal Rumble, she betrayed her by eliminating her. The following month, at the very first Women’s Elimination Chamber, she kicked Bayley out of the pod she was on while smiling smugly at her. Sasha was berated by Bayley for betraying her friend so easily, despite Bayley’s claim that everyone acts for their own benefit at both times. Sasha attacked and mocked Natalya after her 2019 return, interrupting several promos in which she was reminiscing about her late father. At one point, she said, “Go to hell, Nattie, and tell your daddy I said hi.” Laser-Guided Karma: In an effort to successfully defend her title at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, she repeatedly slammed Bayley’s arm onto the steel steps. Not only did it not work, but during their iron-man rematch at the subsequent special NXT Takeover: Respect, Bayley decided to slam Sasha’s arm on the steps. Bayley, on the other hand, was able to avoid the Bank Statement and keep the title by forcing a last-minute submission, and it worked out well for her. The sole reason she joined a faction with Naomi and Tamina, with whom she had no kayfabe connections, was “Like Goes with Like.” Tamina is Samoan, whereas Naomi and she were both African-American. Alpha Bitch is adored by many fans, even though she is a heel, for her sass and genuine Badass Adorability. Although it’s ironic that Naomi came up with this interpretation before Sasha joined the gang, the original meaning of the Team BAD acronym—”Beautiful Alpha Divas”—almost covers this up. She has also shown that she can be softer in real life, like when she gave an emotional interview after winning the NXT Women’s Championship or gave Charlotte a sincere hug after a hard-fought match. Mood Whiplash: When she was interviewed after winning the NXT Women’s Championship, she initially acted in character. She said that the belt only showed that she was the best, as she had always said. Renee Young burst into Tears of Joy and talked about how it was a dream come true when she asked Mercedes-the-person for her reaction, essentially asking, “Okay, so if that’s how Sasha Banks feels, how do you feel?” Ms. Fanservice: Described by peers and fans as one of the most beautiful female wrestlers of her generation (e.g. Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho, and Sammy Guevara, who is famous for being Sammy Guevara), and she often shows off her looks as part of her character (especially in her more narcissistic persona as a heel). Never My Fault: After Elimination Chamber 2018, Sasha took Bayley by surprise when she began to abandon her during tag team matches and called her out on it. She completely forgot that she had first betrayed Bayley during the first two pay-per-views of the year. Mone interrupted a SDCC panel Britt was a part of to further mock her for never getting a match with her. Nice Job Fixing It, Villain!: Mone repeatedly refused to have a match with Britt Baker for the TBS Championship title. This led to a fight between the two during the Q&A panel, and Tony Khan officially announced a match between the two for AEW All In 2024 because he was sick of the argument. Awesomeness Off-Screen: In the summer of 2014, she wrestled Alexa Bliss in a match that was well-received and drew rave reviews. The match took place at a house show, and most people talked about it on WWE.com. The Only One Who Can Beat You: On July 16, 2018, she and Bayley, who had previously been rivals, competed alongside Alicia Fox and Dana Brooke in a tag team match. Sasha attacked both team members to save Bayley when Fox began to target her. In a subsequent backstage segment, she was confronted by Bayley, and she admitted that she saw herself in this way for her. “It’s one thing for me to stomp on you, but I’ll be damned if anyone else does,” Catchphrase Maker: “It’s boss time!” is a favorite saying of Michael Cole’s. whenever she releases new music. “Sasha’s ratchet!” during her time on NXT. (“No, she isn’t!) Power Quartet: The BFFs’ most famous and longest-lasting incarnation, which included Charlotte, Summer Rae, and, of course, Sasha. Stephanie McMahon added Sasha to Team BAD after Naomi requested that she and Tamina Snuka participate in the conflict between Team Bella (the Bella Twins and Alicia Fox) and Team PCB (Paige, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte) over control of the main roster Divas division. The Red Baron: As Sasha Banks: “The Standard,” “The Blueprint,” and “The (Legit) Boss” “The CEO,” as Mercedes Moné puts it. Rich Bitch: Flaunting and gloating about her wealth and glamour is an essential part of her heel character. She even actively sings her praises for Vince McMahon and tells online detractors to “stay broke.” The Opponent: was developing friendly rivalries with Nikki Roxx and Ivy Fit, whereas Mistress Belmont was not as friendly during her brief time as an independent in the United States. Bayley. They probably hold the record for the most singles matches in NXT that feature two women. One of them was hailed by The Undertaker as his favorite wrestling match in a long time. Also, their rivalry goes beyond the squared circle, whether it’s competing to be a wrestler’s best friend or playing Up, Up, Down, Down video games. Rock Me, Amadeus!: Her AEW entrance song, “CEO,” is a hip-hop take on Antonin Dvoák’s Symphony No. 4’s fourth step. 9 “From the New World,” with Mercedes singing herself. Sweetie with the Rose-Haired Hair: For the majority of her face run, she wore pink hair, and for her Face–Heel Turn, she may have removed a pink wig to show blue hair. The “Shaggy Dog” Story: In Sasha’s first title defense, all five of her reigns at Raw Women’s Championship ended with the previous champions regaining it. Shaking the Rump: In 2021, she started her stage entrance by sensually dancing to her theme song, primarily with her hips, on the stage. She’s Back!: She nearly vanished from the company after losing the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35, leaving her visibly upset. On August 12, 2019, she made a surprise heel return. Shout-Out:
Eddie Guerrero was impressed by both her attire for WrestleMania 32 and the frog splash she performed during the match. However, Eddie’s nephew Chavo Guerrero Jr. didn’t really like it because he thought she did the move wrong. While she was out with a back injury, she changed her Twitter display name to $asha Broken Bank$. There is an entry for trivia in this example. It should be moved to the TRIVIA tab, as Matt himself acknowledged. When she recovered from that injury, she presented one to Lita and Trish Stratus in a Worked Shoot promo about the Women’s Revolution. Meteora, Backstabber, Lungblowernote, and Three Amigos are the signature moves. Despite Mercedes KV’s California origins, Southies appear to be her ruse. However, she did fight Lexxus… Team Tag: before Charlotte joined them to form a Power Trio, with Summer Rae as their BFF. With Team BAE being Becky Lynch. Tears of Joy: Her first interview as NXT Women’s Champion, as previously mentioned. The So-Called Coward: Sasha has demonstrated that she will stand firm against her opponent even when push comes to shove and shove-through-the-wall. This is despite the fact that her first instinct at the start of nearly every match she is in appears to be to make a hasty retreat from her opponent. Taking on Emma and Dana Brooke by herself and standing her ground is an illustration of this. Token Minority: Created a Power Trio in NXT with Charlotte Flair and Summer Rae, both Caucasians. The same could be said of her time with Charlotte and Alexa Bliss as part of Triple H’s entourage at WrestleMania XXX. Token Minority Couple: She and fellow non-Caucasian Bayley have teamed up the most among the Four Horsewomen. In fact, the revived versions of them were the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions! Too Many Belts: In 2024 and 2025, she used a “belt collector” trick, collecting a maximum of 12 titles from various global promotions. Sasha’s performance against her former BFF Charlotte solidified her status as one of the best women’s wrestlers in the business, elevating her from being Summer Rae’s pawn. She eventually showed a more compassionate side, beginning with her victory in the NXT Women’s Championship, despite the slow start. She had a grudging respect for Becky Lynch and began to recognize other women as Worthy Opponents. Influence of a Toxic Friend: She is widely believed to be the reason for Bayley’s Face–Heel Turn in late 2019. Bayley was conflicted when Sasha marked her return by beating Natalya and Becky Lynch to death. Bayley said that she considered all three of them to be her friends and didn’t know what else to say, but when she tried to stop Sasha from hurting Becky again, she turned around and beat Becky herself. Ironically, though, this worked against her because Bayley went on to become a heel who kept Sasha in her shadow and became increasingly unpleasant and self-deluding. Team BAD is a good fit for Town Girls. Tamina, the butch, is also the team’s muscle and is portrayed as a sort of muscular Hilda. With her love of rhinestones and accessories, Sasha is the femme fatale. Naomi, on the other hand, is neither. Unlimited Wardrobe: When Sasha and her husband, Sarath Ton, also known as “Mikaze,” were independent wrestlers, he made his own wrestling gear. He began performing hers as well, and WWE eventually hired him as a seamstress. He frequently gets to incorporate many of her design requests and accents into her attire, both inside and outside the ring. For instance, she participated in the first: Type of Match – WWE Women’s: Iron Man, Hell in a Cell, Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania Battle Royale, and Elimination Chamber Championship Match – WWE Women’s: Inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion (won with Bayley), revived WWE Women’s Championship (later the Raw Women’s Championship), and non-brand exclusive Women’s Money In The Bank match. The previous title was the WWF Women’s Tag Championship. She has only won one of the above-mentioned eight matches, according to the Butt-Monkey trope. Un-person: Their merchandise was discontinued after their walkout in 2022, compared to CM Punk’s level in 2014. She and Naomi are no longer mentioned or appear on camera. Nevertheless, they kept their WWE.com profiles. Use Your Head: When she wants to knock her opponent down from the top rope, she does this. She did it twice in WWE and won a championship. Waifu: Avoided. She wrestles with a strong ground game despite being one of the smaller women and being able to work over her opponent. We Used to Be Friends: Charlotte Flair, formerly Bayley, and Summer Rae, technically, though they never had a fight. What Happened to the Mouse? Since WrestleMania 35, she has virtually vanished without a trace, and Bayley has not once mentioned her on camera for several months. She made a surprising comeback on the August 12, 2019, episode of Raw, finally subverting the situation. What the Hell, Hero? : Tried this on Summer Rae, and she gave me the “The Reason You Suck” Speech. Sasha did her Face–Heel Turn as a result of this. Wild Card: Sasha left Team BAD in 2016 and joined forces with Becky Lynch in an Enemy Mine situation. She is significantly nicer and braver, despite not being explicitly a Face. With Friends Like These…: During the Royal Rumble in 2018, Sasha betrayed Bayley by eliminating her after a brief team-up. A month later, she did it again at Elimination Chamber by pushing Bayley off a pod with a smudgy smile. Bayley began to doubt their friendship as a result. Wolverine Publicity: Mercedes’s AEW debut has received a lot of publicity, with her appearing on commentary and frequently taking center stage on camera rather than during the match.
